QFAB has been awarded a fabrication, construction, and loadout contract by McDermott for the QatarEnergy LNG North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Fuel Gas Pipelines and Subsea Cables Project. This new contract is in addition to the fabrication, construction and loadout awards received by QFAB earlier for the NFS Jackets, and the North Field Expansion (NFXP) Wellhead Platform Topsides and Subsea Structures awarded to QFAB in 2022, which is currently being executed by QFAB.
The COMP1 project is part of the NFPS Offshore Compression Project involving the installation of new assets in Qatar’s North Field, including compression complexes at seven locations to sustain gas supply to the existing liquefied natural gas (LNG) production trains into the future.
QFAB is responsible for the fabrication & construction of most of the offshore subsea infrastructure (excluding pipelines) associated with Qatar’s massive North Field Expansion.
The scope of the contract comprises 5,700MT of subsea structures including, subsea Crossing Sleepers, Subsea Crossing Bridges, Subsea Skids with Mudmats, 32” Pipeline Spools and J-Tubes for 190kms of 32″ Dia. subsea pipelines, 17kms of subsea composite cables, 186kms of fiber optic cables being installed by McDermott.
