Qatar Fabrication Company (QFAB) has successfully completed the sail away of the final jacket of six jackets constructed for QatarEnergy LNG’s North Production Sustainability Project, the largest delivery by any contractor to date from Qatar.

The wellhead platform (WHP) 13N jacket is designed to accommodate 15 well slots and support a wellhead platform topside. The jacket with a total fabricated weight of 3,167 metric tonnes and a height of 58 meters will be installed in a water depth of 50 meters.

Eng. Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, QFAB Chairman and CEO of Nakilat, comments on the occasion: “Our involvement underscores the core principles of the In-Country Value initiative, not only bolstering the nation’s economy but also nurturing local talent and driving innovation. This project stands as a shining example of our dedication to creating solutions from Qatar, for Qatar, and beyond.”

John Macpherson, QFAB Managing Director, stated: “Today marks a momentous milestone as we witness the successful sail away of the 13N jacket. With the safe and seamless completion of this sail away, we embark on a journey that extends far beyond, solidifying QFAB’s position as a key player in the industry. We look forward to many more projects delivered from our construction yard, which has very quickly established itself with a proven execution model.”
